When I came to Champaign-Urbana in 1981, I expected to be here for a couple of years, and then perhaps move back to Columbus or Cincinnati in my native state of Ohio to continue my career in sports journalism. But I came to love the area, Illini and Big Ten athletics, and the people I've met along the way. So remaining in the area became a no brainer.
