CHAMPAIGN COUNTY AUDUBON SOCIETY EVENTS

Champaign County Audubon Society Sunday Morning Bird Walks in Busey Woods
and Crystal Lake Park March 7 through May 30. Meet at the Anita Purves
Nature Center, 1505 N. Broadway, Urbana, at 7:30 AM, finish at 9:00 AM. Led
by members of CCAS. All ages welcome (under 10 accompanied by an adult.)
Bring binoculars.


Wednesday, March 17 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM - Join Champaign County Audubon
Society members for a Woodcock Walk in Meadowbrook Park, Urbana. Meet at
the Garden Pavilion near the windmill (Race Street parking lot at
Meadowbrook Park). Free. Register by phoning 384-4062. Further

Saturday, March 27 -Champaign County Audubon Society Field Trip to Arcola
Marsh to look for returning ducks and other waterfowl. Meet at 7:30 AM at
the Anita Purves Nature Center, 1505 N. Broadway, Urbana. Return by mid-day.

Please note recurring dates for Sunday morning bird walks in Busey Woods and
Crystal Lake Park. All Champaign County Audubon events are free and open to
the general public.

Champaign County Audubon Society Program: Costa Rica, a Naturalist's Paradise

Thursday, April 1, Champaign County Audubon Society Program: ³Costa Rica, a
Naturalist¹s Paradise,² a slide presentation by Marilyn Campbell. Enjoy an overall view of different ecosystems of the country and examples of some of
the plants, birds, reptiles, and mammals. Marilyn Campbell is a retired
educator and naturalist with a wide variety of teaching and writing
experiences, including Director of Education and Programming for the
Vermilion County Conservation District and Executive Director of the
Illinois Audubon Society. She is currently a consultant to the Illinois
Nature Preserves Commission and a member of the Illinois Endangered Species Protection Board.

Free program at 7:00 PM at the Urbana Free Library. Light refreshments follow the presentation.
